was talking to a cab driver ytd and he made some comments about where i live and the size of the houses. then he went on to talk about the GIGANTUAN houses at Andrew Road (near SBC) and how its rubbish when ppl say money can't buy happiness. he feels tt its just a saying for ppl who dun have the money to experience the happiness. lol i tot about it and sorta agreed.
to a large extent, money CAN buy happiness (haha this sounds like a gp essay OMG) and tts why today's a significant day. i experienced this certain adrenalin rush when i finally took the plunge and bot the yummy pair of heels i saw at pazzion ytd! oh my gosh I LOVE IT. i have never felt like this before. the moment i don the heels, i felt like...a new woman. a confident, sassy woman. HAHA! and i could just feel it in my bones tt i shld get it.
ermm although it cost a whooping 69 bucks, i couldnt just ignore the inner desire within me to geddit. my subconscious seemed to be nodding to the heels and saying " yes ur the one babe" HAHA! but wait! before u say tt i was impulsive, i wasnt OKAY cos i reserved it ytd and thought about it for one whole day.
the moment i saw it, i consulted my fashion guru miss may sze who agreed tt i shld geddit aft i told her how i felt. (haha but she was probably the wrong person to dissuade me since she herself recently purchased an 89 bucks ZARA stilettos. hoho.)
more significantly, i bot the heels wif my own savings using NETS for the FIRST TIME! haha that felt good. after buying the heels i think i was radiating with happiness lahhh..and I JUST LOVE telling may sweets abt my purchases since her replies nvr fail to affirm my retail decisions hehe.
so anyway, it was a good day. hopefully tml will be good too since im gg kbox wif chris, jye shyang & siying! :D
P.S now i have the same problem as may sweets. shld i tell my mom about the heels? lol.

watching the world go by...
perfect way to spend a lazy sunday afternoon. chilling with may sze whom i havent seen in AGES! sipping a cup of starbucks coffee (my fav!) and just updating each other on the latest gossip and whats been gg on in our lives.
its funny u know. cos we werent in the same cca or class but our friendship started off with the simple act of smiling at each other in sch lol. from then on, we progressed to become great friends! lol and its amazing how we can just talk bout anything and everything from the very first time we had a conversation. was discussing what types of cars we think suit each other and we came up with a decision. a pink volkswagon for her, a red one for me and a lime green for aprie. just think how cool it'll look! o_O
meeting up with her again on tue evening to attend this coffee thing at starbucks lol. oh and most prob gg to meet up wif may lee on sat or smth:D

singing and me
yeah i can finally do lip trills!! (:
today i shan't blog about working but instead i shall tok about my 2nd lesson at music clinic. today's lesson is diaphragm training and i have been feeling quite excited about it. for ages i have been singing in this airy and powerless way which implies a lack of diaphragm usage! so anyway the teacher lynn taught us some breathing exercises today the 1st of which was belly breath which means we gotta inhale thr our mouths for 5 counts and exhale wif a hiss sound for 8 counts.
the next one was THE KILLER for me. you guys might be thinking its some chim stuff rite? but NO! any retard can do it! im serious. this exercise is called lip trills and u basically gotta pierce ur lips together and just let them vibrate. SOUNDS EASY RITE? indeed it is cos so far, everyone i have asked from my icc collegues to my brother can do it!( but i was confident my bro could since he had been known to do lots of stupid stuff in his early teens like moving his ears etc. haha) anyway, i couldnt believe i couldnt do smth tt made me look as retarded as this exercise! so after my lesson ended at 5 i have been practising till now..(yes as im blogging my lips are vibrating nonstop) SO! its true! i can finally do this!!hahaha i have never felt so happy and relieved to do smth silly looking man. oh well but im determined to get it right if it means improving my singing techniques.
lol i realised i blogged an entire paragraph about the lip trills. well for the rest of the lesson we had pitching and hearing exercises and we learnt a new song by jacky cheung called wo zhen de shou shang le. its a GREAT SONG. i love it also because the mtv stars JERRY YEN!!! woohoo wat can be better than that! :P so anyway the 4 of us students took turns to sing and lynn commented on our singing. her comments for me was tt my singing was totally straightforward and lacked feelings. i was shocked cos i really really tried imagining tt im a heartbroken soul pouring her heart out! i guess the image only stayed in my mind but did not register in my voice sadly):
anyway, its only been the 2nd singing lesson but im totally loving it! (= cant wait for the next lesson on sat. in the meantime sy and i will be going to kbox SOON to practise! CANT WAIT :P

ok maybe im being slightly ambitious; i gotta admit having 2 jobs in a day is really tiring.right from the start, today proved to be a more fulfilling day with 4 lessons waiting for me to relief. 1 sec 2, 2 sec 4 and 1 sec 5 class. it was the same noisy sec 2 class again tt i had taken ytd and true enough, they didnt steer away from their innate characteristics of being ultra rowdy. now i understand why teachers do go crazy at times yelling at students to keep quiet. it has indeed proven to be quite a handful, as i have now experienced. so anyway the sec 4 classes were generally ok.
as for the sec 5 class, i had mentally prepared myself for a difficult time as the age difference is simply non-existent. however to my surprise most of the students spent their free time constructively by doing their homework and talking at audible levels, yet unlike the bunch of 14 yr olds. well i have to admit it was kinda weird though having a bunch of sec 5 boys in the front row STARING AT ME doing whatever i was doing. when i qns them about doing smth, they answered cheekily, " teacher, we doing smth wat. we watching you" -_____- ok tt was quite nerve-wrecking and at first i had wanted to stare them down but i failed miserably; i couldnt help it. i burst out laughing. haha ok its damn loserish i know but wat else can i do! so anyway, they started asking me qns like how old i was, whether i was attached, wat schools i came from etc. etc. some of which i answered while others i avoided or appeared mysterious, esp. the age qns. i din want them to know i was just THAT much older than them! but then again, they were convinced tt i am 18 or 19.
so anyway, the day ended with a pleasant surprise-school ends early at 1230 on fridays! (: (: haha yes i know. how slacker-ish of me but be it student or teacher, having a break on fridays is always welcomed isnt it :P
after school met chris at ikea for lunch. i had long heard about the famous swedish meatballs there and had been dying to try it. and true enough, they tasted HEAVENLY! on top of tt, we had the salmon salad and chicken wings which were totally to die for! hmmm a great meal always makes me happy and this works 100% of the time. (=
when nite came, i went off to ice cream chefs wif anticipation since it has been 2 weeks since i last worked! was really happy to see the familiar purple sign upon approaching and within mins, i had started to scoop some ice cream to eat (: i realise smth, after working there, i have almost never eaten ice cream outside of working hours lol. anyway, around 8pm i commented to my co colleague that it seems kinda empty for a friday nite to which she replied for me not to jinx it. TRUE ENOUGH, 30min later we were SWAMPED with customer after customer such tt i simply could not find time to talk to jingxian and siying who came down today. (my apologies!) anyway, probably cos i havent been working there for so long i kept making mistakes today! felt so embarrassed..oh well i must redeem myself tml nite when i work again. so anyway, today's shift was exceptionally long as the last few customers only left 40min after our closing time. and yes i got stuck with mop duty!! ): tt totally sucks cos i was already feeling super duper shagged but the optimistic side of me reminded me tt i could tone my arms while doing tt (: so yup i persevered till 12 and finally went home feeling exhausted but accomplished.

hi world. i realise its been an awful long time since i last blogged. well..its not cos there's a lack of interesting things going in my life but more like..there was so much gg on that i couldnt find time to pen all those events down. well lemme see, there was prelims and a levels which came and went (thankfully!), and of course prom nite..not forgetting my taiwan trip with the peas which was uber fun. hmm after partying for the last 1 mthplus or so, its back to reality. one simply cant just live each day waiting to play or go out and have fun or shop. there's just so much you can do anyway. besides, it starts getting kinda mundane even for a shopaholic like moi. SO anyway, the current highlights of my life wld have to be my 2 superb jobs which include a part-time job at ice cream chefs (as many of you know already since i cant help pulling ppl to come to the shop and show some support lol) and of course my other job as a relief teacher at compassvale secondary school.as a relief teacher who has to stand in for any absent teachers, i generally dun have much to do since no teachers wld keep taking mcs at the start of the school term anyway so during the working hours from 7-230, i spend my time reading, eating and resuming blogging as what i am doing now. thank god for the computer man who FINALLY gave me a laptop to put on my desk today. so anyway i guess u guys wun be interested to know what i've been reading (its currently angels and demons if ur interested to know) but more of wat my teaching experience is isnt it. LOLso anyway, for the past 2 days, wat i have been doing was to follow a chinese teacher around and go to her classes and see how she teaches. not sure if its because its the start of the year, but the teacher did spend an awful lot of time taking attendance, collecting $$, giving out books and lecturing the students of course lol. so anyway, TODAY is the first time that im relief-ing a class all by myself! and FYI, i actually relief-ed a MATH CLASS. har har okk go ahead and laugh, for those of you who are close enough to me to know that i actually suck at math.(i can actually see aprie laughing behind the screen now. i dunno why. lol) ok anyway, as expected, the class was super rowdy and noisy. the kids were walking around talking to others asking to go to the toilets and asking me how old i am( to which i was appalled since one of them was like..eh u older than 30 or wat) oh but fine!! i shall not take offense from 14 year olds lol. strangely enough, i wasnt scared or anything, as i had thought i would be previously. i simply instructed them what to do firmly and loudly ( a couple of times of course) and proceeded with the lesson. so anyway, the topic was on algebra and thankfully i cld still remember what i was taught( kudos to my math teachers like mr teo, ms fang, mr low, miss ng) (: the thing which was most satisfying was that after the lessons, 2 of them actually came forward and asked me questions, not forgetting to apologise for taking up my time. to that i was deeply consoled as there were actually souls out there who bothered listening to me rambling and believed in my ability. i guess its these kinda feelings that make people want to be teachers? i dunno. i guess i would have to wait a bit more before coming to a conclusion if teaching is indeed the career path for me. can i imagine myself standing in front of a class full of students for the next 40 years or so? well that question leads me to ponder..
